The Eating Disorder sub scale is comprised of items inquiring about feelings and behaviors associated with a diagnosis of an eating disorder. Factor analysis of data collected for these items in field trails for clients in eating disorders programs indicate that these items correlated high with the GlobalDistressFactor. However, when working with clients with symptoms of an eating disorder, there is obvious clinical utility in being able to track these symptoms on a separate sub scale.

Following is list of items that appear in various combinations on questionnaires utilized for eating disorder populations.

Looking back at the last two weeks, how often did you
  • ...have problems with eating (too much or too little)?
  • ... feel guilty about eating?
  • ...participate in some eating disorder behavior, eg. bingeing, purging, restricting, over-exercising?
  • ...have someone express concern about your eating behaviors or weight?
